Interdisciplinary Colloquium: Wong Kar Wai's Soundtracks

Visiting music professor and author Giorgio Biancorosso, from the University of Hong Kong, presents a lecture on the scores of Hong Kong filmmaker Wong Kar Wai. Dr. Biancorosso examines how Wong's extensive musical borrowings, which range from the scores of old Chinese melodramas to those of modern European art films, transform the music's cultural meanings and associations: the film score as bricolage.
