Faculty Recital: Michael Jorgensen, violin: Portraits of American Life

Join violinist Michael Jorgensen and pianist Steven Beck for an afternoon of American music for violin and piano.  African-American composer William Grant-Still’s thrilling Suite for Violin and Piano is featured, along with the at times comical and poignant Charles Ives' Violin Sonata No. 2, immigrant Paul Hindemith’s powerful Violin Sonata in C Major, and John Adams’ pulsing Road Movies.  Also featured is Vespers, a work by “Brooklyn’s post-millennial Mozart” Missy Mazzoli for amplified violin and soundtrack.

Lehigh Philharmonic Orchestra: Spring Awakening

New York Jazz Repertory Orchestra: The Music of Cecilia Coleman

In the Spring of 2021, Lehigh Jazz Students were given an opportunity to work with the very talented Jazz composer and pianist, Cecilia Coleman.  The Lehigh Jazz Program would like for everyone to hear this wonderful music. Guest Pianist Prof. Alessandro Vena, Colloquium on Modern Music for Piano

Professor Alessandro Vena, pianist, will present a Colloquium/Recital of Modern Music for the Piano on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at 4:30 pm on Baker Hall Stage, Zoellner Arts Center, Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA.  The event will be open to the public.  Professor Vena's colloquium/recital at Lehigh will feature the Etudes of Phillip Glass, alongside recent music by Italian and Italian-American composers (Piana, Zannoni, Respighi, Cacioppo, and Salerni).
